Quick and easy meal that can be double or triple. Just in time for winter. In this dish there is sausage and you can substitute for pork, chicken, turkey or vegetarian crumble. I serve mine with cheese Texas garlic toast.

Ingredients For white beans and sausage

  • 6 oz
    50% less-fat bulk breakfast sausage
  • 6 oz
    sliced mushroom
  • 3/4 c
    chopped onion
  • 1/2 c
    red bell pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    italian seasoning
  • 1/8 tsp
    pepper flakes
  • 1 can
    15oz white beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/4 c
    water
  • 2 Tbsp
    parsley
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    cooked brown rice

How To Make white beans and sausage

  • 1
    Coat skillet with cooking spray Add sausage and cook until no longer pink. Set aside on a plate.

    Add mushrooms onion, red bell peppers Italian seasoning and pepper flakes. Coat the veggie wit cooking spray and cook for 4 minutes.

    Ad bean, water and sausage. Stir to blend. Cook 5minutes heat through.Remove from heat and stir in parsley and salt. Serve over rice.
