Ingredients For taiwanese braised minced pork

  • 1 Tbsp
    peanut oil
  • 4 clove
    garlic minced
  • 1
    inch piece ginger grated
  • 8 oz
    shiitake mushrooms sliced
  • 1 md
    shallot chopped
  • 1 lb
    ground pork
  • 2
    star anise
  • 3 Tbsp
    shaoxing wine
  • 1/2 oz
    rock sugar or 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    mushroom soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    dark soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp
    white pepper
  • 2 c
    water
  • 1/2 c
    preserved mustard stems
  • 1/4 c
    green onions chopped
  • rice noodles cooked according to packge directions

How To Make taiwanese braised minced pork

  • 1
    Add the oil to a large Wok or skillet. Add the ginger, garlic, shallots and mushrooms. Cook until softened and the mushrooms have given up their liquid. Add the ground pork and star anise.

    Cook until the pork is done. Add the shaoxing wine, rock sugar, mushroom soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, and white pepper. Add the water and bring to a boil.

    Simmer 20 minutes until most of the water is absorbed. Stir in the mustard stems and green onions. Remove the star anise Serve over rice noodles.
