Pork Chops with a oriental flavor. Nice served with rice and a green vegetable. I like Steamed Ginger Broccoli that I have already posted.

Ingredients For sweet chops

  • 4
    pork chops, center cut
  • 1 Tbsp
    canola oil
  • 1 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    fresh ginger, minced
  • SAUCE
  • 2 tsp
    canola oil
  • 4 Tbsp
    rice wine
  • 4 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 tsp
    cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp
    water

How To Make sweet chops

  • 1
    Heat oil in skillet. Saute` chops with garlic and ginger in oil, turning to brown both sides.

    SAUCE: To make sauce, combine oil, rice wine, soy sauce, brown sugar and red pepper flakes.

    Pour over chops in skillet and cover tightly. Simmer over low heat until chops are tender and cooked through; 30-35 minutes.

    Add water as needed to keep sauce from cooking down too much.

    Remove chops from skillet to serving platter. Stir in cornstarch dissolved in water. Cook until thickened. Pour over chops and serve.
