Ingredients For smothered pork chops

  • 1 pkg
    four porkchops
  • 1 c
    italian bread crumbs
  • 1 pkg
    finely chopped cheddar cheese
  • 1 Tbsp
    salt and pepper
  • 4 Tbsp
    coconut oil
  • 1 lg
    red onion, chopped
  • 2 c
    chicken broth
  • 2 1/3 Tbsp
    flour for gravy

How To Make smothered pork chops

  • 1
    Bread your pork chops with bread crumbs and cheese, then pan fry them just to golden brown. Take them out of the pan and strain the oil, keep a little in the pan to saute the onions.

    Saute the onions until translucent, place the pork chops back into the pan on top of the onions. Add a little flour to thicken the gravy. Cover with 2 cups of chicken broth. Place cover on pan and cook for 1 hour until gravy is thick and chops are tender. Then serve and enjoy over rice or just like that with a vegetable.
