I was looking for a pork chop that was more than just pork cooked in a creamy white sauce. So, I played about in the test kitchen, and came up with this. It’s good bone-in pork chops, in a dreamy sauce, slow cooked for several hours. What could go wrong? So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

Ingredients For slow cooker heaven: asian inspiration pork chops

  • PLAN/PURCHASE
  • 2
    thick bone-in pork loin chops
  • THE SAUCE
  • 3 Tbsp
    grapeseed oil
  • 2 Tbsp
    tamari sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 4 Tbsp
    coconut sugar
  • 4 Tbsp
    ketchup
  • 3 clove
    garlic
  • 2 tsp
    ginger
  • salt, kosher variety, to taste
  • black pepper, freshly ground, to taste
  • sesame seeds, for garnish

    Gather your ingredients.

    Salt and pepper both sides of the pork chops.
  • 4
    Chef's Note: If you have time to brine the chops, go for it.

    Combine all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl, and whisk to combine.

    Add a bit of grapeseed oil to a pan over medium-high heat.

    Add the chops.

    Allow them to sear for 2 minutes per side.

    Chef’s Tip: I like sear on each side for 1 minute, and then go back and sear each side a second time for an additional minute.

    Add the pork chops to your slow cooker.

    Pour the sauce on top.

    Cook on low for 4 hours.

    Chef’s Note: After 2 hours, open the slow cooker and flip the chops over.

    OPTIONAL STEP: After the four hours, I like to remove them from the slow cooker, and place them under the broiler for a few minutes… just to crisp them up a bit.
