I have made many slow cooker B.Q. sandwhiches.To me the sauce always seemed to be too much.Like it took the taste of the meat away. In this recipe you can taste the meat.The boiling makes it a smoother taste and the brown sugar thickens it; but not too thick.Every taste is evened out!

Ingredients For slow cooker barbecued sandwiches

  • 1- 12 ounce bottle barbecue sauce
  • ¾ cup ketchup
  • ¾ cup water
  • 1/3 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1- 5lb boneless pork roast
  • 1 ½ table spoons packed dark brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon coarse salt

How To Make slow cooker barbecued sandwiches

    1. Combine barbecue sauce, ketchup, water , vinegar , garlic salt and pepper in slow cooker. Add pork; turn to coat with sauce. 2. Cook covered on low for 7 to 8 hours. Remove pork. When cool enough to handle shred meat. Discarding the fat. Place pork in a shallow casserole dish. 3. Skim fat from sauce in slow cooker. Carefully pour sauce into a pot. Add brown sugar and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat. Boil for ten minutes. Pour over meat and mix well. Put on a bun and enjoy!
