Ingredients For skillet sausage and cabbage

  • 1 lb
    smoked sausage or kielbasa, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 md
    onion, sliced
  • 2 stalk
    celery, thiny sliced
  • 1 md
    head green cabbage, coarsely chopped
  • 1 c
    chicken broth or vegetable broth
  • 1 tsp
    caraway seeds
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper

How To Make skillet sausage and cabbage

    Prepare the celery, onion and cabbage.
  • 2
    In a large skillet, saute the sausage over medium heat until brown; drain.
  • 3
    Add the onion and celery to the skillet and saute for 3 to 4 minutes. Add the cabbage and cook, stirring often, for 8 minutes.

    Add the sausage, broth, and remaining ingredients. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook 10 minutes more, or until cabbage is tender. Serve while hot with mashed or fried potatoes.
