How To Make skillet pork chops and rice
-
1Saute onion and celery lightly in vegetable oil. Sprinkle chops with salt and pepper to taste. Add chops to skillet and brown on both sides. Then remove and set aside.
-
2Add water, brown sugar, salt, pepper and 1 1/2 cups of the tomato sauce. Heat and stir bringing to a boil. Add rice and stir. There will be a lot of liquid but the rice will absorb it. Put chops into this mixture.
-
3Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Pour the remaining 1/2 cup tomato sauce over chops and simmer 15 minutes longer.
