Ingredients For scandanavian-style meat loaf & gravy

  • 1 can
    4-oz can mushroom stems and pieces, drained and chopped fine
  • 1/2 c
    onion, minced
  • 1/4 c
    fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 c
    fresh bread crumbs (approx. 2 slices)
  • 2/3 c
    milk
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground allspice or nutmeg
  • 1 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 1 lb
    lean ground pork
  • 1 pkg
    12-oz pkg. egg noodles, uncooked
  • 1 jar
    12-oz. jar mushroom or beef gravy
  • 2 Tbsp
    milk
  • 1/4 c
    sour cream

How To Make scandanavian-style meat loaf & gravy

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Finely chop mushrooms, onion - add parsley bread crumbs, milk, egg and seasonings in a large bowl. Mix well.

    Add meats to mixture and mix gently - do not over mix. Shape meat mixture into a loaf pan and bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes of until meat is cooked through (160 degrees). Remove and let stand 10 minutes.

    While cooking the meatloaf, cook noodles and drain. Heat gravy with milk in a saucepan over medium heat until hot. Remove from heat and in sour cream - mix thoroughly.

    Slice meatloaf into 8 slices and serve with noodles and gravy.
