Mom hated to cook. But this was an easy go to for her. My kids loved it. Easy almost quick lol but easy! Filling warmth You can sub out the nuts. Daughter and I can't eat almonds so I chop walnuts in place. Or omit if ya can't do nuts

Ingredients For sausage rice casserole

  • 1 lb
    bulk pork sausage
  • 1 1/2 c
    rice, uncooked
  • 3 1/3 c
    chicken stock
  • 1
    onion diced
  • 1 c
    almonds, slivered
  • 1 stalk
    celery diced
  • 1 tsp
    rosemary and thyme

How To Make sausage rice casserole

    Cook sausage

    In casserole dish ..Mix onion, celery , rice and chicken stock ( can sub same amount of water and a couple bullion cubes ) thyme and rosemary

    Add cooked sausage and nuts and mix.

    Cover and place in preheated 350° oven for 45 minutes.

    Uncover cook 10 more minutes . Remove from oven and stir. Serve.
