This casserole is one of the yummiest dishes I have ever made. The recipe was handed down to my nephews wife from her German Grandmother.

Ingredients For sauerkraut sausage casserole

  • 4 c
    sauerkraut
  • 1 1/2 lb
    bulk pork sausage
  • 1 1/2 lb
    pork, ground
  • 16 oz
    egg noodles
  • 1 sm
    yellow onion (chopped)
  • 1 can
    cream of celery soup
  • 1 can
    cream of chicken soup
  • 6 oz
    mushroom pieces
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder

How To Make sauerkraut sausage casserole

    In large skillet add meat, onion, mushrooms, and garlic. Salt and Cook till onions are clear and meat is cooked well. Drain excess grease. Salt and pepper to taste.

    In a large sauce pan fill 2/3 full of water. Add salt. When water comes to boil add 1 tsp. oil along with noodles. Cook till noodles are tender.

    In a large baking dish combine meat mixture, noodles, sauerkraut, and soups. Cover and bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.
