I found this recipe in a box of recipes that my Dad had been collecting. He is were I got my recipe collecting passion from. I love this recipe, with its sweet and salty glaze.

Ingredients For san francisco pork chops

  • 4
    pork chops
  • 1 Tbsp
    oil
  • 1 clove
    minced garlic
  • SAUCE
  • 2 tsp
    oil
  • 4 Tbsp
    dry sherry
  • 4 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 1/8 tsp
    crushed red pepper
  • 2 tsp
    cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp
    water

How To Make san francisco pork chops

  • 1
    Heat oil in skillet, brown chops on both sides.

    Remove chops from pan and add a little more oil if needed. Saute garlic for a minute until brown.

    Combine oil, sherry, soy sauce, brown sugar and red pepper. Place pork chops into pan and pour sauce over them. Cover tightly.

    Simmer over low heat until chops are tender and cooked through. 30-35 minutes. Add a little water, if needed.

    Remove chops to platter. Stir in cornstarch dissolved in water. Cook until thickened. Pour over chops

    Serve with buttered noodles
