This recipe will make a mess of chili and real good eats. I've added different ingredients over the years and finally got the right taste.

Ingredients For rob's down south chili

1 lbground pork with sage

1 lbground beef chuck

1 lbred chili beans

1 (15 oz) canrotel
-
1 (15 oz) canwhole stewed tomatoes

2 (15 oz) cantomato sauce

1 canbeer
-
1 lgbell pepper -- seeded and diced
-
1 mdonion -- diced
-
2 mdjalapenos -- diced
-
1/2 clovegarlic -- chopped

1 tspcumin
-
1 Tbspbrown sugar
-
1 Tbspfresh cilantro -- chopped

2 pkghormel original chili seasoning
How To Make rob's down south chili

1Prepare your beans in the crock pot; add the beer and enough water to cover beans.

2After the beans are done. Add them to a large stock pot. You may need to drain most of the bean juice off. Save some of the juices back for later. You may need to add it back to the chili for consistency.

3In a large skillet brown the onion, bell & jalapeño peppers, cilantro, garlic, pork, and beef.

4After browned add to the stock pot.

5Then add the Tomato Sauce, Rotel, Tomatoes, Red Beans, cumin, brown sugar, and Hormel Chili Seasoning.

6Let it simmer for 30 minutes.
