This is a step up from your traditional meatloaf. Ground turkey can be substituted for the beef and pork.

Ingredients For robin's meatloaf

  • 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 lb
    ground pork
  • 4 oz
    yellow onions chopped small diced
  • 2 oz
    green bell peppers small diced
  • 2 oz
    red bell peppers small diced
  • 2 oz
    yellow bell peppers small diced
  • 2 oz
    celery stalk chopped small diced
  • small can evaporated milk
  • 1 lg
    egg
  • salt, pepper, garlic and thyme to taste
  • 1 can
    tomato paste
  • 2 Tbsp
    Heinz 57 steak sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    Honey
  • 1 oz
    oil

How To Make robin's meatloaf

    Add all of the chopped vegetables to a saute pan with oil to caramelize until almost black but not burned and set aside to cool.

    Combine the caramelized vegetable mixture, evaporated milk, seasonings and egg to meat gently. Do not over mix.

    Place meatloaf into a baking dish and cook for 45 minutes until brown.

    In a bowl combine tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, Heinz 57 sauce and honey for topping.

    Top the meatloaf with the sauce mixture during the last 10-15 minutes of cooking. Do not over bake.
