Ingredients For red cooked pork

6 cwater

1 csoy sauce

1 cshaoxing wine

1/2 cbrown sugar

1 bunchgreen onions white and green parts separated

4inch pieces ginger smashed

10 clovegarlic smashed

20stems of cilantro leaves reserved for garnish

1orange peel sliced

How To Make red cooked pork

1Combine water, soy sauce, wine, brown sugar, white parts of the green onions, ginger, garlic, cilantro stems,orange slices, and star anise to a large pot. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer and simmer 10 minutes.

2Add the pork and simmer for 4 hours turning pork every 30 minutes.Remove the pork from the liquid and strain the sauce discarding the solids. Serve with sauce over top and garnish with cilantro and green parts of the green onions.
