The German name for this dish Kombes mit Eisbein und Kartoffelbrei and was provided to me by a good German friend. When I make this dish, and soon, I will come back and add photos.

Slow Cooker Crock Pot
Ingredients For pork knuckles & sauerkraut

2pork knuckles
-
3 csauerkraut, rinsed and drained

4 cbeef stock
-
1 cdark beer
-
1medium onion, diced
-
2 tspjuniper berries
-
3bay leaves
-
3 Tbspworcestershire sauce
-
salt and pepper, as desired

mashed potatoes, for serving
How To Make pork knuckles & sauerkraut

1Place the pork knuckles in your slow cooker.

2Mix together remaining ingredients except the mashed potatoes and pour over the knuckles. Cover and cook on Low setting for 8 hours without removing the lid.

3Remove the knuckles from the slow cooker. Scoop out some sauerkraut and place on one side of each plate, place a pork knuckle on top of the kraut, then place a scoop of mashed potatoes on the other side of the plate. Serve.
