How To Make pork essentials: tenderloin matchsticks on rice
-
1PREP/PREPARE
-
2Gather your Ingredients (mise en place).
-
3Cut the pork loin into matchsticks.
-
4Add the pork loin, garlic, honey, vinegar, tamari sauce, mirin, and sesame seeds into a bowl.
-
5Chef’s Note: You can let the pork rest with the other ingredients for about 15 minutes, but it is not necessary.
-
6Add the grapeseed oil, and the sesame oil to a sauté pan over high heat.
-
7When the oil begins to shimmer, add the pork.
-
8Cook over high heat, until most of the liquid has evaporated, and the sauce begins to thicken, about 4 – 6 minutes.
-
9Chef’s Tip: You need to keep an eye on the sauce, because you will have about 30 seconds between a good thickened sauce, and a burned sauce. Once you add the pork, do not leave the pan unattended.
-
10PLATE/PRESENT
-
11Add the pork matchsticks to a nice bed of warm rice, and sprinkle with a bit of sesame seeds. Enjoy.
-
12Keep the faith, and keep cooking.
