Ingredients For pork chops and sauerkraut casserole

  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2
    bone-in pork chops
  • 1
    onion, diced
  • 1 lg
    granny smith apple, cored, diced
  • 1/2 tsp
    caraway seeds
  • 2 lg
    potatoes, sliced into 1/4"dice
  • 1-1/2 c
    sauerkraut
  • 3/4 c
    chicken broth

How To Make pork chops and sauerkraut casserole

    Heat oven to 350. In lg cat iron skillet, melt butter over med-high heat. Season pork chops w/ salt and pepper. Brown chops on both sides.

    Remove chops to a plate. Add onion, apple and caraway seeds to skillet. Cook, stirring until onions are soft.

    Layer in skillet,1/2 the onion mix, chops, and potatoes. Season w/ salt and pepper. Top w/ remaining onion mix and sauerkraut. pour chicken broth over all. Cover tightly w/ foil. Bake 45 mins.
