4 1/2 lbpork shoulder roast, extra fat taken off

2sweet onions, cut into quarters

1 Tbspchili powder

2 tsporegano, dried

2 tspsalt

1 tspblack pepper, ground

How To Make perfect pork carnitas

1Mix spices together. Rub spice mix all over the roast.

2Put pork roast, onions, garlic, and both kinds of juice into the slow cooker.

3Close the slow cooker and cook on low for 8-9 hours, or until tender. You can shorten the cooking time if you cook on high, approx 5-6 hours.

4Let pork roast sit for 20 minutes. Break apart and shred the roast putting back into crock pot with the juices on warm.

5Put oven on broil. Put the shredded pork on a large cookie sheet and broil about 3-4 minutes to add a slight crispness.
