After being in Hawaii, and enjoying the Luau food, I was happy to find this recipe for Kahlua Pork.

Ingredients For kahlua pork baked

  • 4 - 5 lb
    pork roast
  • about 1 c
    hawaiian salt (or rock salt)
  • 2-3 bunch
lg. ti leaves (or lg. spinach leaves)
  • 1 bottle
    liquid smoke flavoring

How To Make kahlua pork baked

  • 1
Choose a large 4 - 5 lb. pork butt roast with ample fat. Score the top of the fat, and rub with the Hawaiian salt. Sprinkle generously with the liquid smoke. Wrap securely with the ti leaves. IF you can't find Ti leaves, you can use lg. spinach leaves (to make at least 3 layers), or even cabbage leaves as a last resort (flavor won't be as good).
  • 2
Tie securely with string, place in roasting pan on a rack add a cup of water in bottom of pan. Cook @ 300 degree oven for at least 4 hrs.
  • 3
When fully cooked, cut string, and remove ti or spinach leaves. Shred the meat (like Kahlua pig), mixing so fat is well distributed. Serve hot. Enjoy.
