Not sure where I got this recipe from, family here loves it. Use about 325 grams / 11-12 oz of ham to prepare this, leftover ham or even ham steaks, which is what I use to make this. This is a basic recipe, great for snacks, appetizers, or even as a filling for a nice sandwich.

Ingredients For old fashioned ham salad

  • 2 c
    ground ham
  • 1 Tbsp
    onion, finely diced
  • 1 tsp
    mustard powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    sweet pickle relish
  • mayo, as needed

How To Make old fashioned ham salad

    Use a meat grinder, or a cleaver and a chopping block, and mince the ham, add the onion, mustard, and pickle. Mix together. I used diced sweet gherkins.
  • Old Fashioned Ham Salad

    Add and mix in mayo, a heaping tablespoon at a time, until you have achieved a creamy consistency. Serve on crackers, crackers and cheese, or use as a filling for sandwiches. Enjoy.
