My Mom use to make this stew and my sister and I just loved it. This is a borrowed picture till I can take one of my own.

Ingredients For mom's pork stew

  • 4 to 6 c
    cooked pork from roast (more if you like)
  • broth from pork roast
  • 4 lg
    potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 4 md
    carrots, chopped
  • 1 lg
    onions, chopped
  • 1
    bay leaf
  • 1 tsp
    parsely
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 4 c
    water
  • 1 md
    head of cabbage ; cut into wedges
  • 1 pkg
    pork gravy mix ; optional

How To Make mom's pork stew

    Add all ingredients in a dutch oven ; EXCEPT CABBAGE.

    Bring to a boil on stove.

    Cover and reduce heat to med-high ; until vegetables are tender.
  • 4
    In the last 20 minutes of cooking add the cabbage wedges to the stew ; cook until cabbage is tender.
