Ingredients For moms chop suey

  • 11/2 lb
    lean pork or beef sliced in thin strips
  • 1 c
    sliced mushrooms
  • 3 Tbsp
    shortening
  • 1 c
    sliced,onions
  • 11/2 c
    sliced celery
  • 1 tsp
    ginger
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 pkg
    pea pods lg
  • 1 can
    chinese veg
  • 1 Tbsp
    molasses
  • 2 clove
    chicken bouillion cubes
  • 21/2 c
    water
  • 1 lb
    can bean sprouts (drained)
  • 1 Tbsp
    brown gravy
  • 5-oz can
    bamboo shoots (drained)
  • 1/4 c
    cornstarch
  • 1/4 c
    soy sauce

How To Make moms chop suey

  • 1
    brown beef or pork,mushrooms in shortening add onions.celery,ginger,salt,pepper,bouillon cubes,water: simmer stirring occasionally 20-30 mins until meat is tender.

    add beansprouts.chestnuts,bamboo shoots conbine cornstarch,soysauce. stir into mixture; simmer 10 min. serve over hot cooked rice or chow mein noodles sprinkle 1/4 toasted almonds (opional)
