Ingredients For lasagna casserole

  • 1/2 lb
    hot italian sausage, crumbled
  • 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp
    garlic, minced
  • 1 md
    onion, diced
  • 3/4 tsp
    red pepper, crushed
  • 2 tsp
    oregano, dried
  • 1 tsp
    basil, dried
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    pepper
  • 4 c
    chicken broth
  • 1/2 lb
    rotini pasta
  • (1) 15 oz
    can stewed tomatoes, italian or fire roasted
  • 2 heaping Tbsp
    tomato paste,
  • 1/2 c
    ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 c
    parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 1/2 c
    mozzarella cheese, shredded

How To Make lasagna casserole

    In a large stock pot, add olive oil, sausage & ground beef; brown.
  • 2
    Add onion & garlic, saute with meat about 2 minutes. Add crushed red pepper, saute another minute.

    Stir in chicken broth, stewed tomatoes, tomato paste, rotini pasta,oregano, basil, salt & pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and let simmer til pasta is tender.

    In a bowl combine ricotta, parmesan & mozzrella cheeses. Preheat your broiler.

    Place Lasagna mixture in a large casserole, top with cheese mixture. Place under broiler for a few minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Enjoy with crusty bread or garlic bread sticks.
