My amazing hubby smoked these for me while I was at an event with Bear Bones Bakery on 4-22-23, and I came home to one of my favorite things...BBQ RIBS! These are absolutely delicious.

slabs ribs, cut in half to fit in the smoker
  • apple wood chips for smoker
  • dijon mustard
  • webber kansas city bbq seasoning
  • brown sugar
  • beer (your choice)
  • sweet baby ray bbq sauce

How To Make john's smoked bbq ribs

  • 1
Cut ribs in half so they fit in the smoker. Coat with dijon mustard. Sprinkle with the webber rub. Then rub in and sprinkle with brown sugar, rub in well.
  • 2
Cook at 225 degrees, in smoker with apple wood chips, for 3 hours.
  • 3
Take off heat, double foil wrap (so rest doesn't come out when back in the smoker). Put beer in with your ribs, which keeps it moist. Seal really well, then smoke another 2 hours.
  • 4
Remove from heat, unwrap. Smother in sweet baby rays bbq (or whatever sauce you like). Leave the foil open, don't re-wrap. Cook 1 more hour.
