Ingredients For jiffy yam and sausage skillet

  • 1 pkg
    8 ounce brown and serve sausage links
  • 1
    sm box orange gelatin
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 tsp
    minced onion
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp
    grated lemon zest
  • 1 1/4 lb
    cooked yams
  • 1 can
    1 lb 4 oz sliced pineapple, drained
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make jiffy yam and sausage skillet

    in large skillet prepare sausage according to directions. and remove.

    in same skillet, combine, gelatin,water, sugar, butter,onion, salt, lemon juice, and peel. bring to a boil stirring constantly.

    add yams and pineapple, reduce heat, simmer 15 minutes basting frequently

    add sausage, simmer another 5 minutes, basting frequently.
