italian sausage on a bun

I usually fix my Italian Sausage on the grill when my son invites his friends over for a cook out. They tell me it's like eating Pizza on a Bun. Well back in 2003 I sent my recipe Johnsonville for review and ended up with $20.00 worth of coupons for their product and a nice letter thanking me for my recipe. Seems they liked it as well. I know it to be kid friendly, family friendly and company friendly so I hope you enjoy it as well. You can serve a 3-Bean Salad, Potato Salad, or Pasta Salad with this as well. It's what ever you like. Toppings can vary depending on your tastes.

How To Make italian sausage on a bun
-
1Grill your sausage till it's nice and brown. While your sausage is cooking on the grill you are going to slice your onions thin and place in a saute pan with your sliced mushrooms. In another small pan you should be heating up your favorite sauce. While all this is going on put your hot dog buns on a cookie sheet and open them up.

2When the sausage comes off the grill, place them on the buns, top with sauce, onions, mushrooms, and then cheese. Place in oven about 3-5 minutes. Just to let the buns warm and the cheese melt. It's like pizza on a bun and the kids will love it. Serve with your favorite salad.
