Ingredients For ham steak in apple and cider sauce

2 Tbspolive oil, light

2 lbham steaks

1 1/2 capple cider

1/2 capple wine

1/2 csliced mushrooms

1/2 cbrown suger,dark

1 cchopped dried apples

1/2 tsprubbed sage

1/4 tspground cinnamon
-
1 1/2 Tbspdijon mustard
How To Make ham steak in apple and cider sauce

1I use a cast iron skillet for this. But any heave duty skillet will work.. Heat oil in a heavy skillet over high heat. Brown ham steak with mushrooms on each side for 2-3 minutes.Remove ham steaks and mushrooms and keep warm on a plater.

2Combine cider,brown sugar,apples,sages,cinnamon,and apple wine into skillet Bring to a rapid boil,then cook till reduced by abought 1/3. Whisk in mustard reduce heat to simmer.

3Return ham and mushrooms to the pan. Cover and cook over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes..Put meat on a platter..Raise heat to high whisk till sauce becomes like a syrup and poor over ham steak...
