This recipe is based loosely on a Taste of Home recipe. It's a great way to reinvent leftover ham! It's very quick and simple and uses mostly pantry ingredients.

Ingredients For ham and tortellini skillet

1 pkgcheese tortellini, 20 ounces or so

1/2 cbell pepper, diced

1 cbroccoli florets
-
1/2 cpeas
-
1 1/2 cham, cubed
-
2cloves garlic, minced
-
1 cchicken broth
-
1/2 cmilk or cream
-
2 tspcorn starch
-
1 Tbspbasil pesto (or dried basil)

4 Tbspgrated fresh parmesan cheese
-
salt and pepper to taste

2 Tbspbutter
How To Make ham and tortellini skillet

1Cook tortellini according to directions on package. Drain and set aside.

2Melt butter over medium heat in a heavy skillet. Saute bell pepper and broccoli until slightly tender. Add ham and garlic, saute until heated through. (I let the ham get a little crispy, which was delicious)

3Combine broth, cornstarch, and pesto and add to skillet. Bring to boil and cook until thickened.

4Add milk or cream, tortellini, peas, and half of the cheese. Toss well. Salt and pepper to taste.

5Sprinkle with remaining cheese and serve.
