As a young mother of two boys, I wanted to start our own Christmas tradition! Everyone else baked a ham but I wanted to be different! We liked ham and my boys loved mac and cheese! So,... Ham and Cheese Casserole has been OUR family tradition for 25 years!!

Ingredients For ham and cheese casserole

  • 1 1/2 lb
    boneless ham, diced
  • 16 oz
    elbow macaroni, cooked
  • 12 oz
    sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 12 oz
    mild chedder cheese, shredded
  • 16 oz
    cottage cheese
  • 4
    eggs
  • 3/4-1 c
    milk
  • 1/3 c
    margarine

How To Make ham and cheese casserole

    Preheat oven 350 degrees. Lightly spray 13x9x2" pan with cooking spray.

    Cook macaroni according to package directions until almost done. Drain.

    In very large bowl, combine all ingredients, saving some of the cheddar cheese for the top.

    Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until bubbly. Spread remaining cheddar over top. Cover with foil. (This will melt the cheese)

    Optional: Sprinkle freshley ground black pepper before eating!!!!
