There is just something about baked ham that says, "this is a special occasion." My sister-in-law always uses brown sugar and mustard for her glaze. I added the pineapple and cherries. This holiday ham is moist and tender. Enjoy!

Ingredients For holiday ham

  • 9-10 lb
    cook's butt portion ham
  • 1 1/4 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 Tbsp
    yellow mustard + 1 addtl tsp.
  • 3 Tbsp
    pineapple, crushed (well drained)
  • 1/2 c
    maraschino cherries, drained (long stemmed-opt)
  • whole cloves, optional

How To Make holiday ham

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 350F. Trim excess fat from ham. Score diamonds in ham. May stud with cloves, if desired.
  • Bake ham until meat thermometer reaches 160F

    Wrap in foil and bake for 2 1/2 hours @ 350F. Remove from oven.
  • Baked Ham with Brown sugar, crushed pineapple and maraschino cherries

    Mix 1 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar with mustard, well drained crushed pineapple and cherries. Pour over ham and return to oven for about 40 minutes or until meat thermometer reaches 160 degrees.

    Allow to rest at least 30 minutes before slicing.
