I was always intrigued by the famous Elvis Presley peanut butter, bacon & banana sandwich. I'm not a banana fan, but sliced apple was a good substitute. It gave the sandwich more of a satisfying crunch, and the apple flavor went well with both the PB & the bacon. I'm trying to be healthy, so I didn't fry it like the original.
