Another staple here in New England..caramel and apples! They pair well w/ pork and chicken so the recipes are endless..yum!

Ingredients For easy saucy, apple- caramel pork chops

  • 4
    thick, boneless pork chops
  • 2 tsp
    canola oil
  • 4 Tbsp
    light brown sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • 4 Tbsp
    unsalted butter
  • 1/4 c
    apple cider
  • 2 lg
    granny smith apples, peeled, cored and diced

How To Make easy saucy, apple- caramel pork chops

    Set oven to broil. In large skillet, over med-high heat, add 2 tsp oil. Season chops w/ salt and pepper. Brown chops on both sides in skillet. Place chops on broiler pan.

    In small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and a pinch of salt. Melt butter in lg skillet, over med-high heat. Stir in brown sugar mix. Place diced apples in skillet. Pour the apple cider over everything in the pan.

    Reduce heat to medium, cover skillet and cook until apples are tender. Place pan w/ chops, under the broiler and cook for about 3-5 mins or until no longer pink inside. With a slotted spoon, remove apples from skillet and place on top of chops. Continue cooking sauce until it thickens. Pour sauce over chops and apples and serve hot.
