crunchy baked pork bites with awesome sauce
This recipe is a two-fer. You can pile them up on a plate, and serve them as an appetizer, or you can place them on a nice warm bed of rice and make a meal out of them. They have just enough heat to get your attention, but not so much that you grab for the water. So yummy. Either way, you’re in for a tasty treat, and with that great sauce, and crunch, you won’t believe that they were baked. So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

Ingredients For crunchy baked pork bites with awesome sauce
- PLAN/PURCHASE
- AWESOME SAUCE

4 Tbsptamari sauce

2 Tbspfresh clover honey

1 1/2 Tbsphot sauce, i prefer, frank’s

2 tspdark sesame oil
-
1 pinchcrushed red pepper flakes
-
2 clovecloves, minced
- THE SLURRY
-
1 tsparrowroot powder, or cornstarch
-
1 Tbspwater
- THE PORK BITES
-
10 ozpork tenderloin, cut into bite-size cubes
-
1/2 cflour all purpose variety
-
2 lgeggs
-
2 Tbspwater
-
1 cpanko breadcrumbs
-
1 tspblack pepper, freshly ground
- OPTIONAL ADDITIONS
-
toasted sesame seeds, for garnish
-
sliced green onions, for garnish
-
white rice, for plating
How To Make crunchy baked pork bites with awesome sauce

1PREP/PREPARE

2AWESOME SAUCE

3Gather your ingredients.

4Add all of the sauce ingredients to a small saucepan, over medium-low heat.

5Stir the mixture, and bring it up to a light simmer.

6To make the slurry, mix the arrowroot (or cornstarch), and water together in a small bowl.

7Add the slurry to the saucepan, and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

8Cover the saucepan, and then reduce the heat enough to just keep the sauce warm.

9Chef’s Tip: If your stovetop has a warm setting, use it.

10THE PORK BITES

11Gather your ingredients.

12Combine the flour and pepper in a large plate, or breading pan. Whisk the eggs with the 2 tablespoons of water, and place in another pan. Add the breadcrumbs to a third pan.

13Coat a piece of pork in the flour.

14Shake off the excess, and then coat in the egg wash.
-
15Shake off the excess, and then press into the panko breadcrumbs.

16Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, fitted with a wire rack.

17Repeat for the remaining pork, and allow them to rest for 15 minutes.

18Place a rack in the middle position, and preheat the oven to385f (195c).
-
19Place the pork bites in the preheated oven, and allow them to bake until fully cooked and beginning to brown, about 25 to 30 minutes.

20Chef’s Note: Keep an eye on them, and make sure they don’t turn from golden brown to burnt brown.

21Remove from the oven, and toss with the sauce.

22PLATE/PRESENT

23Serve on a bed of rice for a nice light meal.

24Pile on a plate, and serve as an appetizer.

25Garnish with some sliced green onions, and toasted sesame seeds. Enjoy.
