My husband loves to eat this chili with shredded cheese and crackers... no spoon required! I have made this recipe with venison sausage as well.

Ingredients For chili

  • 1 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 1/4 lb
    ground, hot italian sausage
  • 2 can
    kidney beans in sauce
  • 6 oz
    tomato paste, with italian herbs
  • 16 oz
    tomato sauce
  • 1 pkg
    taco seasoning mix, or 2 packages depending on taste

How To Make chili

    Brown ground beef and sausage in large skillet on medium to high heat. Drain fat.

    Combine kidney beans, tomato paste, tomato sauce and taco seasoning (I like to use hot taco seasoning - but you can use any kind) into a crock pot. Turn knob to desired setting.

    Add beef and sausage to crock pot. Combine thoroughly.

    Heat until bubbling. I usually set mine on high for approximately 2-3 hours. Since beef and sausage are already cooked, just heat and serve!
