I use a pork loin instead of a butt for a leaner healthier version of Chili Verde

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Raise your hand if you love tomatillos! With a slightly sour zing, they add a wonderful punch to this already terrific recipe. Way to go, Lou!

How To Make chili verde pork with green chili sauce

  • 1
Make Sauce a day ahead and refrigerate until ready for use
  • 2
Put all sauce ingredients in food processor and blend until smooth.
  • 3
Rub Pork with salt, add next 4 ingredients and place in crock pot for 6-8 hours. I have a hi-lo setting on my crockpot that automatically kicks from hi to lo after 2 hours. If yours does not just use lo for the full 8 hours.
  • 4
When pork is cooked remove from crock pot and shred, dump all fat and liquid from crock pot and return shredded pork.
  • 5
Pour raw Sauce in crock pot and cook on high for 2-3 more hours.
  • 6
Serve with tortilla’s and any sides you choose.
