I found this in a cook book i have .Very good chili

Ingredients For chili pit chili

  • 4
    slices smoked bacon
  • 2 lb
    lean pork ,cut in to cubes
  • 1 1/2 c
    chopped onion
  • 2 lg
    cloves garlic,minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 1 tsp
    dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 1 qt
    chicken stock
  • 2 can
    14 1/2 oz hominy drained
  • 3 tsp
    paprika hot or mild
  • 2 can
    corn kernels ,drained [10] oz

How To Make chili pit chili

    In a frying pan over med heat fry bacon until crisp ,remove bacon pour off all but 2 to 3 Tbsp bacon fat.Add pork .Cook and stir till brown.Add onions and garlic cook and stir till onions are tender .

    Put pork and bacon mixture in slow cooker Crumble bacon and add chili powder ,oregano,paprika ,cumin,chicken stock,drained hominy cook on low 8 to 10 hours .Last hour add corn.
