I created this new pizza casserole recipe. It's inspired by meat lovers pizza, filled with crumbled Italian sausage mixed with beef and mini pepperoni.

Ingredients For combination pizza casserole

  • 2 c
    mini pepperoni, divided
  • 1 c
    grated asiago cheese, divided
  • 4 Tbsp
    pizza seasoning, divided
  • 1 lb
    uncooked rotini pasta
  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 lb
    sweet Itailan sausages, casings removed
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 md
    red onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    steak seasoning
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 jar
    pizza sauce
  • 1 c
    shredded pizza cheese blend

How To Make combination pizza casserole

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

    Coat a 9x9 inch baking dish with cooking spray. Add 1 cup mini pepperoni, asiago cheese and 2 tablespoons pizza seasoning; mix well.

    Cook rotini pasta according to package directions; drain. Season with 1 tablespoon pizza seasoning.

    Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add Italian sausages and ground beef, cook for 5 minutes until the meats are crumbly and browned. Drain any excess fat.

    Mix in chopped red onion, steak seasoning, garlic powder and remaining mini pepperoni and pizza seasoning. Continue to cook for 3 minutes.

    Reduce to low heat.

    Add the cooked rotini pasta and pizza sauce; stir together and simmer for 8 minutes until combined. Remove from heat.

    Pour over a prepared baking dish evenly. Sprinkle with shredded pizza cheese blend.
