    pork shoulder
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    paprika
  • 1 Tbsp
    garlic powder

    thyme
  • 1 tsp
    black pepper
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 1/2 c
    Carolina style mustard bbq sauce
  • 12
    hamburger buns
  • CHOW CHOW
  • 2
    red bell peppers, chopped
  • 1 lg
    onion, chopped
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1/2 c
    apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp
    dry mustard
  • 4 c
    chopped cabbage
  • 1 tsp
    ground turmeric

How To Make carolina bbq pulled pork with chow chow

    Mix the dry seasoning for the pork together and rub it all over the pork. Place in the fridge for 3 hours.

    Meanwhile make the chow chow. Bring all the ingredients together in a pan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 1 hour. Cool and refrigerate.

    Place the pork in a slow cooker and cook on low for 8 to 9 hours. Shred the meat, add the BBQ sauce, and let cook until warmed through.

    Serve the pork on the buns topped with chow chow.
