I received this recipe from a friend who had someone visit her from Italy. He made this dish for her family and she used it often to serve to her daughter and her teenage friends since it feeds a lot easily. I hope you try it. I plan to make it myself again this evening and I will add a photo tonight.

Ingredients For carlotti

  • 1 lb
    sweet sausage, cut into chunks
  • 1
    sliced green pepper (and/or red)
  • 1/2
    diced onion
  • 1 clove
    chopped garlic
  • 1 c
    chunky tomato sauce
  • 1 c
    cream
  • 1/2 c
    dry sherry
  • parmesan cheese to taste

How To Make carlotti

  • 1
    Saute sausage in 1 tbsp. olive oil until browned. Add peppers, onions and garlic and saute. Add sherry and scrape pan. Add tomatoes, cream and grated parmesan cheese. Cook until sausage is cooked and no longer pink. Serve over 1 lb. cooked spaghetti.
