Bratwurst is very popular where I live and it's fun to find different ways to enjoy the wonderful flavor of bratwurst. I can't remember how I aquired this recipe, but my family and friends have enjoyed it over the years.

Ingredients For bratwurst casserole

  • 1 lb
    bulk bratwurst, not links
  • 1 md
    onion chopped
  • 1 can
    sauerkraut 8oz drained
  • 2 c
    shredded swiss cheese
  • 2 c
    bisquick
  • 1 c
    beer or non alcholic beer
  • 2
    eggs

How To Make bratwurst casserole

    Heat oven to 400
  • 2
    Spray cake pan with cooking spray.

    Brown bratwurst and onion in large skillet until bratwurst is cooked. Let cool.

    Sprinkle bratwurst and onion mixture in cake pan, the sauerkraut and then the swiss cheese.

    Mix eggs, bisquick and beer together, pour over bratwurst mixture. Bake at 400 for 30-35 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes before serving.
