Hey… It’s Saturday… and I’m playing around in the test kitchen. I love ribs… grilled, baked, whatever… I love ribs. These were an experiment that turned out pretty dang good, so here you go. So, you ready… let’s get into the kitchen.

Ingredients For asian inspired slow cooker ribs

  • 2 Tbsp
    chinese five spice powder
  • 2 Tbsp
    light brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    kosher salt or 2 teaspoons table salt
  • 3-4 lb
    spare ribs or baby back ribs
  • 1/2 c
    filtered water

How To Make asian inspired slow cooker ribs

    Gather your ingredients.

    Mix the spices together in a small bowl.
  • 3
    Use your fingers to break up the brown sugar… A chef’s best tools are his/her hands.

    Remove the silver skin, by cutting under it, and then using a paper towel to grab and pull it off the ribs.

    Cut the ribs into sections that will fit into your slow cooker.

    Sprinkle the spices onto the ribs and rub.

    Add the water to the slow cooker.

    Add the ribs.

    Cook on low for about 6 hours.

    Chef’s Tip: At the end of the 6 hours, the rib meat should be tender and separate easily from the bone.

    Slice the ribs into individual pieces, and add some sauce.
