grammy's new york style pizza sauce
This pizza recipe is the one Dad always made in my home, growing up. Of course, he didn't use a recipe, but I think I've figured it out pretty well. It tastes exactly like his.

1 Tbspolive oil, extra virgin

2-3 tspfresh garlic, minced

1 can (28) ozcrushed tomatoes

1 tspsalt

1 tspdried oregano

1/2 tspdried basil

1/8 tspred pepper flakes (optional)
How To Make grammy's new york style pizza sauce

1Lightly sauté the minced garlic in olive oil, being careful not to burn the garlic (it will get bitter). Add the crushed tomatoes, salt, oregano & basil. Add the red pepper if you like it spicy.

2Cook on low (bubbles should barely break the surface) for about 20 minutes or until oil comes to the top. Stir it occasionally so it doesn't burn on the bottom.

3Use it immediately or store in the refrigerator or freezer.
