How To Make ftira, (classic pizza style)
-
1Prepare the dough first. Place all the dry ingredients in a large bowl and mix to combine. Add oil too the water and slowly stir into dry ingredients. You should end up with a soft dough which you can start to knead.
-
2Knead the dough on a flat surface for about ten minutes until the dough is smooth. Leave the dough in a covered bowl in a warm area for at least 3 hours, then cover the bowl in cling wrap and place in the fridge overnight. Once the dough is ready cut into 4 equal size pieces. Preheat oven to 400F.
-
3Place some flour on a flat surface and with a rolling pin roll out in the shape of your tray (Use a small rectangular tray). Roll the dough larger than your tray as the dough tends to spring back once placed on the tray. In your tray add some olive oil and sprinkle some semolina on top if desired. Place the dough onto your oiled tray then lightly oil your ftira.
-
4Cover your dough with very thin amount of tomato puree. Spread as much Mozzarella cheese over whole ftira as you would like.
-
5Spread sausage on ftira. Next add the rings of onion. Slices of mushroom go on next. The bell pepper goes on now. Last but not least is the olives.
-
6Finish up with the parmesan cheese. Sprinkle on Basil flakes. Place the ftira in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Watch the last couple of minutes to see when you think it is done
-
7Take out of oven and cut into slices. Serve.
