    carrots, drained

    celery, diced fine, steamed

    onion, grated, steamed
  • 1 c
    black olives, sliced
  • 1 can
    mushroom pieces, drained
  • 1 can
    v-8 juice, spicy (4 oz)

How To Make french loaf pizza

  • 1
Make the sauce first. There will be extra sauce. Use some for dipping the crusts. Leftover sauce freezes well.
  • 2
Pour the tomatoes in a saucepan or high sided skillet on med heat. I used a quart that I had in my freezer. You can use canned or fresh (peeled) tomatoes.
  • 3
When tomatoes come to a boil add tomato paste. Stir in.
  • 4
Add the drained carrots. You can use fresh carrots but they should be chopped and steamed till tender first. Carrots will help reduce the acidity of the tomatoes. Crush the carrots with a potato masher or stick blender.
  • 5
    Add the celery.
  • 6
    Add the onion.
  • 7
    Add the olives.
  • 8
    Add the mushrooms.
  • 9
Add the individual serving can of Spicy V-8 juice. (4oz.) This is not too spicy but adds flavor.
  • 10
Let the sauce warm thru then keep the pot on low heat.
  • 11
    Make the garlic toast.
  • 12
Cut the french loaf in half (top and bottom) lengthwise.
  • 13
Then cut the loaf into half. (there will be 4 pieces)
  • 14
Preheat the oven. I use my convection toaster oven. 450 degrees on turbo. Rack placed in center of oven. A regular oven will do as well. 450 degrees with the rack in the next to top position.
  • 15
Place the bread cut side up on a pan that fits the oven. 2 slices for the toaster oven, all 4 for the regular oven.
  • 16
Pull out some of the bread from each slice. Save it to make bread crumbs.
  • 17
Butter the bread on the torn side facing up. Each slice uses 1 tbsp butter. Use salted or unsalted.
  • 18
Sprinkle the butter with garlic powder. Use as much or as little as you like.
  • 19
Sprinkle the Buttered bread with the parmesan cheese.
  • 20
Place the bread in the oven. Toast the bread as if making cheesy garlic toast. Watch it closely as to not let it burn. Remove the toast on the pan from the oven.
  • 21
Spread a thin layer of the sauce on the toast. All the way to the edges.
  • 22
Layer the pepperoni over the sauce. I layer it 2 slices side by side one end to the other on each slice.
  • 23
Spread thin layer of sauce over pepperoni.
  • 24
Sprinkle shredded Italian cheese blend lightly over pepperoni and sauce.
  • 25
Add crumbled sausage and hamburger over cheese. I have used cooked frozen meatballs here too. Just cut them into 1/4 pieces.
  • 26
Spread sauce liberally over the crumbled meats.
  • 27
Sprinkle with lots of the Italian cheeses.
  • 28
Place pan with pizzas back in the oven and heat till cheese on top is browning.
  • 29
Remove Pizzas on pans from oven. Let sit 4-5n minutes. Cut across long sides into slices fr easier eating.
  • 30
serve with extra sauce for dipping slices and crusts.
