Deliciously simple Barbecue Chicken Pizza combines your favorite bbq sauce, rotisserie chicken, thin sliced red onion, and oodles of melted mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Enjoy this easy pizza for movie night, game day, or pizza night.

Ingredients For bbq chicken pizza

  • 1 lb
    pizza dough
  • 1
    heaping tablespoon cornmeal
  • 2 ½ c
    diced cooked chicken
  • 2/3 c
    barbecue sauce
  • ¼
    medium red onion, thinly sliced (see notes)
  • 1/3 c
    sliced pepperoncinis
  • 1 ½ c
    shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ c
    shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ c
    shredded monterey jack cheese
  • 2 Tbsp
    chopped fresh cilantro

How To Make bbq chicken pizza

    Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

    Sprinkle the cornmeal on a pizza stone or pizza pan. Pat the pizza dough out into a 12-inch circle. Prebake the pizza crust for 5-6 minutes in the preheated oven. Let the pizza dough cool for a few minutes.

    In a medium bowl, stir the diced chicken with 1/3 cup barbecue sauce and set it aside. Spread the dough with the remaining 1/3 cup barbecue sauce and sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle the pizza with the diced chicken.

    Top with red onions and pepperoncini. Sprinkle with the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese.

    Bake for 13-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden brown. Sprinkle with the chopped cilantro. Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing.
