Ingredients For spaghetti pie

  • 1 sm
    onion, chopped
  • 1 stalk
    celery, chopped
  • 1
    carrot, chopped
  • 8 oz
    ground beef
  • 8 oz
    italian sausage, no casings
  • 24 oz
    marinara sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    red wine vinegar
  • 8 oz
    spaghetti, cooked, drained
  • 1 Tbsp
    half & half
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 1/2 c
    provolone, shredded
  • fresh parsley, chopped

How To Make spaghetti pie

    Spray large skillet; heat over medium heat. Add onions, celery & carrots; cook, stirring often until softened, 2-3 minutes. Crumble in beef & sausage; cook, stirring until browned, 5 minutes. (At this point, I drain mixture and add back to pan.) Add sauce & vinegar; adjust heat to med-hi, bring to a boil then simmer 10 minutes.

    Transfer to a large bowl, stir in half & half.

    In a separate large bowl beat eggs with salt and pepper, stir in 1/2 cup cheese, then the spaghetti.

    Spray skillet with cooking spray and heat over med-hi. Pour mixture into skillet and cook until bottom is slightly crisp, 5 minutes. Top with sauce mixture. Cover; cook until hot, 5-8 minutes.

    Remove from heat, sprinkle remaining cheese. Let stand 5 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley.
