I took my spaghetti and meat sauce recipe and layered it in a casserole dish and baked it in the oven for something a little different. I love baked pasta dishes.

Ingredients For spaghetti casserole

8 -12 oz pkgspaghetti, cooked per pkg directions & drained

1 lgjar spaghetti sauce, or homemade

1 tspeach seasoning -oregano, chili powder

1/2 tspbasil, dried

1 candiced tomatoes
-
1 1/2 lbground chuck
-
1/2 tspsalt
-
1/2 tspblack pepper, coarse ground

1 smonion, sauteed, optional
-
1 mdgreen bell pepper, chopped, optional
-
1 Tbspbutter, optional
-
1-1 1/2 cmozzerella, parmesan and/or cheddar cheese
How To Make spaghetti casserole

1Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain. Set aside.

2Brown ground chuck. Drain. Add salt, pepper,oregano, chili powder and basil. Add tomatoes. OPTIONAL: Saute' onions and bell pepper in butter; Add to meat.

3Combine meat and sauce in pan.

4In casserole dish or 9x13 baking pan, pour just enough sauce to cover the bottom well. Add layer of cooked spaghetti. Top with more sauce and cover with foil.

5Bake at 350 degrees approximately 35 minutes. Remove from oven and top with cheese of your choice or combination. Bake an additional 5-10 minutes uncovered.
