There are zillions of lasagna recipes out there and I think I've tried most of them. But, I keep coming back to this one as the best. It was given to me many, many years ago by a dear next door neighbor.

Ingredients For sherry's lasagna

1 lbground beef
-
1 can28 oz whole tomatoes with juice

1 can12 oz tomato paste

2 tspgarlic salt

1 1/2 tsporegano, dried

2 ccottage cheese
-
1 cgrated parmesan cheese, divided

12 ozmozzarella cheese, shredded
-
12 ozlasagna noodles cooked/drained

1 tspbasil, dried
How To Make sherry's lasagna

1Saute meat, drain. Add tomatoes (breaking up), tomato paste, garlic salt, oregano and basil. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes.

2Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

3In mixing bowl, stir together the cottage cheese and half of the grated parmesan cheese.

4Set aside 1/2 cup of the meat sauce and 1/2 cup of the parmesan cheese.

5In ungreased baking pan, alternate layers of pasta, meat sauce, mozzarela cheese and cottage cheese mixture.

6Spread the reserved meat over the top. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese and the 1/2 cup of mozzarela.

7Bake, uncovered for 45 minutes, then let stand for 15 minutes. Enjoy.
