This has been a long time favorite,that always "hits the spot" in our family!It's a hearty,tasty dish and really doesn't take long to make either.Nice served with a salad and italian bread!

Ingredients For quick shells and bean dinner

  • 1/2 lb
    medium shell pasta (3cups)
  • 1 md
    onion,chopped
  • 1 md
    green pepper,seeded and chopped
  • 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 can
    28oz size,whole tomatoes,undrained
  • 1 lb
    can red kidney beans,undrained
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • parmesian cheese to sprinkle on top when served

How To Make quick shells and bean dinner

    Cook Medium shells as per package directions.Drain and set aside.

    Add onion,pepper and ground beef in a skillet.Cook until meat is browned.Drain excess fat.

    Add remaining ingredients,EXCEPT the shells.Simmer this for about 20-25 min.Sometimes might need to add a very small amount of water.

    During the last 10min's of cooking the above mix,add the cooked shells.Mix and heat all thru,stirring as needed. Serve with some grated Parmesian cheese on top.
